In turn, we encourage our clients to communicate with our therapists to enable us to fulfill, and hopefully surpass, your expectations. As chiropractic adjusts the bones, massage focuses on relaxing and lengthening the muscles and soft tissue. Tense muscles can cause skeletal misalignments, which is why massage is beneficial prior to a chiropractic adjustment in order to ensure longer lasting results. Equally, many personal training clients report improvements in their training sessions thanks to improved flexibility and range of motion, and all our trainers are advocates of the immense benefits of regular massage.
On that note, massage boasts a plethora of benefits, including but not limited to:
- Stress and anxiety reduction
- Pain reduction
- Better sleep
- More energy
- Improved concentration
- Increased circulation
- Improved flexibility and range of motion
- Reduced adhesions, scar tissue and swelling after surgery
Among other things, massage is used to treat the following conditions:
- Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion
- Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays
- Ease medication dependence
- Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system
- Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles
- Help athletes of any level prepare for and recover from strenuous workouts
- Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin
- Increase joint flexibility
- Lessen depression and anxiety
- Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks
- Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation
- Reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling
- Reduce spasms and cramping
- Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles
- Release endorphins—peptides that work as the body’s natural painkiller
- Relieve migraine pain
