Cheryl Watkins, CHHC
Helping others create healthier lives through nutrition and fitness is Cheryl’s passion and goal. An athlete all of her life, Cheryl channeled her athletic energy and competitiveness as a corporate account executive for Hewlett-Packard Co. Today, she channels that energy into Nutrition Coaching, which helps others find themselves and achieve their health and wellness goals. When her husband was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer in 2007, she left the corporate world, rearranged her priorities and changed her life in order to be a more-present mother and wife.
Following this life-altering experience, Cheryl returned to school to pursue a career in nutritional counseling. She is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, NY and a Certified Holistic Health Counselor (CHHC). While studying at IIN, Cheryl began an internship at Inspire Nutrition, Inc. She later entered into a partnership with Kristen Zetterberg, RD, Founder, Inspire Nutrition. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan University in Communications/Public Relations and pursued graduate studies in Marketing/Business Administration from Rider University.
Cheryl understands firsthand the role that healthy eating and regular exercise play in the overall happiness and success of our daily lives. Her personal journey with life’s transitions, fighting disease, and mid-life changes offers her real perspective on the health challenges that many of her patients face. Much of Cheryl’s training includes the psychology of why people eat the way they do and how to help them implement change to live healthier lives.
Cheryl conducts One-on-One and Group Nutritional Counseling. She is trained in and implements Inspire Nutrition’s two weight management programs: “Whole Body Health 10 Week Behavioral Weight Loss Class” and the 2-month “BLITZ” program.
She is a member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Pennsylvania Dietetics Association, Sports, Cardio and Nutrition Practice Group (SCAN), Nutrition Entrepreneurs Practice Group (NE) and Weight Management Practice Group (WM).
Tennis, golf, skiing, reading and being a mom are among the many things in life that Cheryl enjoys. Cheryl lives in Newtown, PA with her husband and two teenage children.
