WHF Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocol

    The following items are to be used for cleaning WHF Facility

    Product Details:

    Hand Sanitizers:

    • Bac Stop 3 (Spray based hand sanitizer)
    • 4 x 1 gal. containers
      • Spray based hand sanitizer should use less volume per person to properly sanitize hands
      • Contains 60%+ alcohol in this product

     

    Cleaning:

    (Cleaning will be performed throughout the building especially in the gym area. The following cleaning products for the gym are to be used on equipment, mats, and floor)

    • Alpha 2000 (All Purpose cleaner)

    o   Use: Everyday before disinfecting a surface. When using this on equipment and mats please wet with this solution wipe down and then disinfect.

    o   Dilute in water 1 oz per gallon of water

     

    Disinfecting:

    • Clorox Bleach
      • CDC Guidelines for use of Bleach to disinfect on COVID-19 https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cleaning-disinfection.html
      • For disinfection of hard (non porous surfaces)
        • Diluted household bleach solutions (at least 1000ppm sodium hypochlorite) can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application, ensuring a contact time of at least 1 minute, and allowing proper ventilation during and after application. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
          • Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
            • 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water or
            • 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water
          • Bleach solutions will be effective for disinfection up to 24 hours.

     

    • Simple Green Pro 5 Disinfectant

      • Simple Green d Pro 5 has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard, non-porous surfaces. Therefore, Simple Green d Pro 5 can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Norovirus on hard, non-porous surfaces. Refer to the CDC website at cdc.gov/coronavirus for additional information.
      • Q: How do I use Simple Green d Pro 5?
        • As a disinfectant Simple Green d Pro 5 is effective against: Norovirus.
      • Preparation of Disinfectant Use-Solution: 2oz per gallon of water (1:64).
      • DISINFECTION: Apply use-solution to hard, nonporous surfaces, thoroughly wetting the surfaces, with a cloth, mop, sponge, sprayer or by immersion. Treated surfaces must remain wet for 10 minutes. Wipe dry with a cloth, sponge, or mop or allow to air dry.
      • Rinse all surfaces that come into contact with food such as countertops, appliances, tables and stovetops with potable water before reuse. Do not use on utensils, glassware and dishes as a disinfectant.

     

    Current Modified WHF Schedule:

    • Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 12 pm, 3 pm – 7 pm
    • Friday: 9 am – 12 pm
    • Saturday 9 am – 12 pm

     

    Cleaning Schedule

    (clients should be using hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes on a daily basis)

    • M-Th: 12 pm – 1 pm, 7 pm – 8 pm
    • Friday: 12 pm – 1 pm
    • Saturday: 12 pm – 1 pm

     

    In the gym for all equipment and floors

    Notice: All staff participating in cleaning must wear protective gloves before cleaning.

    Cleaning Phase

    • Mix 1 oz. of Alpha 2000 All-Purpose Cleaner
    • Wet down equipment, mats and floors with Alpha 2000 cleaner solution.
    • Wipe down with dry towels on equipment and mats
    • Continue to the next step to disinfect.

    Disinfecting Phase

    • Once equipment and mats are wiped down, can begin the Disinfecting Phase
    • Mix 2 oz. of Simple Green Pro 5 Disinfectant Concentrate with 1 Gallon of Water or 5 tablespoons (⅓ cup) of Bleach to 1 gallon of Water.
    • Apply disinfecting solution on the following surfaces: Gym Floor, Bathroom floor, Weight Equipment, Cardio Equipment, Mats, Tables, Door Nobs, Cubbys, Chairs, and all other hard surfaces that are points of contact.
      • Treated surfaces must remain wet for 10 minutes for simple green, allow for at least 1 minute for bleach.
    • Wipe cardio and mats dry with a dry towel and allow floors and all other surfaces to air dry

    Further Disinfection

    • Additional Disinfecting Solution using Simple Green Pro 5 Disinfectant Concentrate or Bleach solution can be mixed and made into disinfecting spray, which client and staff could use for gym cleaning use.

    Hand Sanitizing

    • Bac Stop 3 hand sanitizing solution will be available in pumps around the facility for clients and staff to use to help sanitize hands for as needed application.
